Healthy Homemade Popsicles

Healthy homemade popsicles are one of the most easiest, kid friendly, perfect summer treats you can make!

You can literally make these HOWEVER you desire! First things first, grab popsicle molds on Amazon.

Got leftover smoothie? Fill the popsicle molds. Have fruit that needs used? Put it in the popsicle molds with liquid of choice. I’m not kidding when I say you can make these however you like! This is a great way to enjoy a cold summer treat and make it with real food ingredients! Not too mention, it is very cost effective when done this way.

After some consideration, I decided to break this blog post into different categories to help you get creative in the kitchen. If you are short on time, it is super convenient to dump chopped fruit in the molds and fill with coconut water, milk or juice. If you have a little more time, blending up some delicious food is nice too. I like to take this tropical delight “ice cream” and pour into the popsicle molds. A coffee one would also be super yummy, agree?!

If you prefer more of a creamy consistency, you will want to blend your fruit with a milk or yogurt. 

Fruit options:
  • strawberries
  • watermelon (blended, pictured above with blueberries)
  • bananas
  • pineapple
  • raspberries
  • peaches
  • blueberries

 

Liquid options:
  • coconut milk (makes a nice consistency if blending)
  • organic pressed orange juice (so stinkin good, even by itself)
  • grape juice
  • almond or cashew milk
  • coconut water
  • yogurt (would need to use if blending)

 

Other fun add-in options:
  • chia or flax seeds
  • fresh herbs (mint, basil)
  • vanilla
  • raw honey
